Des Croissants Paris Introduce

For Californians seeking an authentic taste of Europe without the transatlantic flight, Des Croissants Paris offers a genuine slice of French culinary excellence right in the vibrant heart of Culver City. Located on Washington Boulevard, this highly-regarded bakery has quickly established itself as a premier destination for Parisian-quality pastries, drawing patrons who appreciate the subtle art of fine baking. It’s more than just a place to grab a quick bite; it’s an immersive experience, from the French cafe jazz playing softly in the background to the team members and even many customers conversing in French. This commitment to an authentically Parisian ambiance and product quality is what sets Des Croissants Paris apart in the competitive Los Angeles food scene.
The core philosophy of Des Croissants Paris centers on the richness and freshness of ingredients. Customers consistently rave that they can “truly taste the quality of the butter and dough in every bite,” a testament to the bakery’s dedication to traditional, high-standard baking methods. The atmosphere is frequently described as immaculately French and "chic," blending a low-key Parisian charm with the bustling energy of the Culver City Arts District. Whether you are a long-time Francophile or simply looking for the best croissant you’ve ever had, this destination promises an indulgent and memorable stop.
Des Croissants Paris specializes in bringing the delicate flavors and perfect textures of authentic French viennoiseries and pastries to the West Coast. While their prices are reflective of the high quality and their location in a trendy area like Culver City (with a chocolate croissant priced at approximately $6.50), the consensus among local users is that the superior taste and experience easily justify the cost. It is a place where you truly pay for what you get—a small piece of daily French luxury.

---## What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Des Croissants Paris is an investment in quality, authenticity, and a brief but complete European escape—an increasingly valuable commodity in the fast-paced California lifestyle. This bakery is worth choosing over other options for three compelling reasons centered on product, experience, and context.
The Authenticity of the Pastries is Unmatched: The single greatest draw is the quality of the core product. For a resident of California, finding an authentic French croissant—one that is genuinely flaky, soft, and deeply buttery without being heavy—can be a challenge. Des Croissants Paris delivers this promise, with customers confidently stating the quality is superior to other known spots in the LA area. The Chocolate Croissant (Pain au Chocolat) is a must-try, with its high-quality, decadent chocolate, and the Raspberry Danish stands out for its delicate flavors and creamy custard. For a true taste of France, this is the destination. The focus on quality ingredients, particularly the butter and dough, translates to a noticeable difference that justifies the price point, positioning the product as a justified luxury rather than a simple baked good.
The Vibe is an Essential Part of the Indulgence: Unlike many bakeries that are strictly transactional, Des Croissants Paris provides a transportive Parisian vibe that enhances the food. The sound of French cafe jazz, the sight of a beautiful, spotless shop, and the friendly, professional service create a low-key, chic experience. This immersive atmosphere, complete with French-speaking staff and regular patrons, turns a morning pastry into a genuine cultural moment. The charming back room, where you can sip your coffee at a little table surrounded by specialty French apparel, offers a cozy, intimate spot—a rare find in bustling Culver City. Customers are not just buying a pastry; they are buying an accessible, mini-vacation.
Perfect for a High-Quality Morning Ritual: For those who value the freshness of their morning meal, Des Croissants Paris is the optimal choice. The strongest recommendation from regulars is to “definitely come when they open” to experience the pastries when they are at their most "magical and FRESH." This bakery is positioned perfectly for a high-quality, quick-hit breakfast experience. While the limited operating days (closed on Tuesdays, according to one account) require some planning, this limitation speaks to a dedication to small-batch, fresh production over mass availability. Furthermore, the selection of other items, such as the quiches (which many plan to try next) and the delightful Raisin Escargot, ensures that there’s always something new and authentic to sample. For the local user, choosing Des Croissants Paris means prioritizing an authentic, high-quality start to the day.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I used to travel to the Glendale area to get croissants but this place is much closer and the quality I had here was better!!!! I got a chocolate croissant, a danish with raspberries, and a latte. 🥐☕️ The chocolate croissant was soft, flakey, buttery, and every bite had decadent chocolate which tasted high quality. the mouthfeel was on point 👌the raspberry danish had a flakey croissant-like pastry and a vanilla custard that was smooth, creamy, and had the most delicate flavors!!!! 🍮 It was like France and everything was so good I forgot about my coffee! 😳I came around 30 minutes after they opened on a Saturday and there was no wait. Everything tasted fresh! The vibes are immaculately French 🇫🇷 (french cafe jazz in the bg!), their team is French and many of the customers spoke French to order. Most of the customers seemed like regulars that were raving about the things they ordered from their last visit. In the back they have a little shop room where they sell specialty items and apparel. The vibe in there is soooooo chic french and they even have a little table where you can drink your coffee in there!!! I thought it was so charming I loved it ☺️Overall I’d definitely come back for the amazingly high quality pastries and low key, chic French vibes!!!! The prices are consistent with the Culver City arts district ($6.50 for a chocolate croissant 🫣) and you pay for what you get so it can be justified. I’d still come back, throw money at them, and try the quiches. 🤤Definitely come when they open when everything is magical and FRESH!!!!✨✨✨✨
August 23 · Lauren LewI first discovered their pastries at the Culver City Farmers Market, and what stood out most was the richness and freshness of the ingredients. You can truly taste the quality of the butter and dough in every bite.Excited to visit their store, I initially went on a Tuesday—only to find it closed! They’re only open a few days a week. This time, I made it on a Friday morning, and it was bustling! The shop is spotless and exudes a charming Parisian vibe. From the friendly merchants to the cozy atmosphere, it feels just like a bakery in France. 🇫🇷I highly recommend the raspberry Danish and raisin escargot (such a fun name!). The raspberry Danish is filled with incredibly fresh, juicy berries, while the escargot has just the right amount of plump, moist raisins. 💕The customer service was warm and professional, and the coffee was surprisingly good. Plus, their prices are more reasonable than others in the neighborhood. 👍👍The only downside? The restroom is for employees only, so I had to cut my visit shorter than I’d have liked.Overall, I highly recommend this spot and will definitely be back! 🇫🇷❤️

September 27 · Alessandra GreenWe stopped in to try their Kouign Amann. It was flaky, buttery, and had a nice carmel on the bottom. I understand why its considered one of the best in LA. We also got a quiche Lorraine. Unfortunately, even after 5-10 minutes back in the oven it was still ice cold. We each had a bite and threw the rest out. We have had much better elsewhere. They had a line out the door, the whole first 30 minutes they were open. They had 2 small tables inside and one outside.
August 26 · Cody BaschI went almost an hour out of my way to try the croissant here after a rave Parisian croissant review. The bar is high and this is difficult to achieve. I really wanted to like it. I ate it right away, around 10am on Feb 22, 2025, so no photo of the crescent.Unfortunately, I was let down, greatly.Maybe it was a bad batch but not excusable in a French bakery, where the baker has a French accent (real or not). The crescent pastry looked a bit off and it definitely did not sound right, was not flaky beyond a couple spots in a very superficial layer, did not have the right elasticity at all throughout, and the taste was not good. 0 to 1 star. Even Costco has better.I also got a 5-layer flaky pistachio cream dessert for my wife. She didn't like it, and she likes pistachios. I actually liked the pistachio cream filling but the flaky part had the same issue as the crescent pastry. I don't think I'll ever go back, sadly. The bit of pistachio cream was not worth the $15.
