Eban's Bakehouse Introduce
For many residents across Ohio and beyond, the search for truly exceptional gluten-free baked goods often ends at Eban's Bakehouse. Located in Columbus, this veteran and family-owned establishment has built its reputation on a simple, bold motto: “No gluten. No regrets!” Eban’s Bakehouse is not simply a local bakery; it is a dedicated, certified gluten-free facility specializing in artisanal, small-batch, preservative-free products. The focus here is uncompromising: to deliver breads and cookies that have the taste and satisfying texture often missing in the gluten-free market. Founded by professional chefs Eric Braddock and Adrienne Novak, the bakery utilizes responsibly sourced, non-GMO, and organic ingredients, setting a high bar for quality that resonates deeply with those managing celiac disease, gluten sensitivities, or simply choosing a gluten-free lifestyle. This commitment to superior ingredients and expert baking techniques is what has allowed Eban's to expand its reach, though its heart and headquarters remain firmly planted in Columbus, Ohio.
The core product philosophy centers on eliminating common allergens like soy and dairy, in addition to wheat, ensuring a wholesome product that doesn't sacrifice flavor. This dedication is evident in the rave reviews the bakery receives, such as one customer who shared their relief at finding the bread "delicious" after years of eating "horrible gluten free bread." They further highlighted the product's nutritional benefits, noting its impressively low 13-gram carbohydrate count compared to most other gluten-free alternatives, confirming that the quality meets both dietary needs and taste preferences.

While the local response to product quality is overwhelmingly positive, transparency is important, and a critical piece of customer feedback regarding costs must be addressed factually. One customer expressed frustration with the combination of the loaf price and the shipping cost, stating that while they did not mind paying the $8.99 for a loaf of oat bread, an additional $15 for shipping was excessive.
It is important for local users, particularly those who live outside the immediate Columbus area, to understand the context of this cost. As a small-batch, artisanal bakery dedicated to high-quality ingredients, Eban's products often reflect a higher manufacturing cost than mass-produced alternatives. Furthermore, the business must ensure that its preservative-free, perishable products arrive fresh. The company’s online information indicates that its shipping method is designed to guarantee freshness with a hearty shelf life (up to six months in the freezer), often requiring special packaging and expedited services. To manage these operational demands and offer better value, Eban's advises that by setting a minimum spend (often $50.00 or more, though this can vary), they can offer "customer-friendly shipping rates." For Ohio consumers, the option of local Takeout at the 5760 Westbourne Ave location is always the most cost-effective way to enjoy these premium products.

Eban's Bakehouse Reviews
gluten free bread
★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have eaten so much horrible gluten free bread over the years I was looking forward to getting my order after finding your bakery on line.I was impressed with the packaging and the bread is delicious. It also has a 13 gr carb count that is lower than most gluten free products. My husband likes it better than his bread. Will definitely get my bread here from now on.
December 05 · Noel GriffithIn terms of full disclosure, I didn't buy the oat bread I wanted because Eban's charges $8.99 per loaf and $15 for shipping. I have no problem paying $9 for the loaf of bread but I am not paying $15 to ship what is probably less than a 2 pound loaf of bread. This is highway robbery and as a consumer, I am sick of it.
March 20 · Pat WilliamsTo me trying new gluten free things is always a risk, so when Eban’s offered a cookie sampler promotion at the Nourished festival I decided to go for it! I was blown away by how good (and addicting) they are! I ate all 5 in 3 days 🙈. I’d add pictures but the wrappers are already in the trash. I will be ordering more and look forward to trying new products. I ranked them below based on my favorites.1) Peanut Butter - superior to that of others I tried. Will definitely be ordering again.2) Crispy Pecan Shortbread - I love shortbreads and this is not a flavor you find often. Will definitely be ordering again.3) Cranberry Walnut Coconut Oatmeal - I did not expect to like this cookie, but the texture and flavor combo was surprisingly good. Might or might not purchase again.4) Chocolate Chip - the chocolate Chip was okay. Chocolate Chip cookies are so common and everyone has their preferred style. This one was not my favorite but I would definitely purchase it for a friend.5) White Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal - I was not a fan of this cookie simply for the texture. While all the other cookies were nice and soft, this one was hard and mostly tasted like oatmeal.Overall, very satisfied with the sampler and shipping was super fast and well packed. No cracked cookies!
