- Brioche-Style Donuts: A defining characteristic of Farmer and the Bell's offerings is their brioche-style donut. This unique approach to donut making sets them apart from more traditional, denser varieties.
- Innovative and Balanced Flavors: The shop is renowned for its creative and well-balanced flavor profiles. Examples include the highly praised lemon coconut, where the lemon flavor is "just right" and the coconut in the glaze creates a harmonious combination. Another notable aspect is the thoughtful inclusion of tart citrus flavors that provide a welcome contrast to the sweetness, preventing the donuts from being overly cloying. They also incorporate local ingredients, such as WhistlePig whiskey in their brown butter-WhistlePig donut, highlighting a commitment to regional sourcing.
- High-Quality Ingredients: Customer reviews frequently highlight the exceptional quality of ingredients used. This commitment to fresh, premium components contributes significantly to the superior taste and texture of their donuts.
- Exceptional Customer Service and Owner Involvement: The staff at Farmer and the Bell are consistently described as friendly and provide quick service, enhancing the overall customer experience. The wrap-around porch overlooking the park and river offers a serene backdrop for enjoying their delectable treats.
- Value for Money: While some might initially perceive the donuts as higher priced at around $4 each, customers overwhelmingly agree that the quality, unique flavors, and overall experience make them "well worth it." This perception of excellent value reinforces their standing as a premium donut provider.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Really enjoyed the lemon coconut donut. The donut is a brioche style - not too heavy and the lemon flavor is just right. The taste and texture of the coconut in the glaze makes it all come together...YUMM! Definitely worth making a stop to visit!
June 24 · Stephen LeeThis place is fantastic. The whole experience... the wrap-around porch overlooking the park and the river, the adorable flower decorations, the friendly staff and quick service, the very clean bathroom, and obviously THE DONUTS. I figured at $4 a donut, they better be the best donuts I've ever had... and THEY ARE! Well worth it. I really appreciate that the citrus flavors on some of the donuts are actually tart and contrasts the sweetness in the rest of the donut. I also think that the person ringing everyone up at the register is actually the owner. Its great to see a business owner so involved and working the front lines in thier own business.
August 22 · Stephanie LangloisThese crullers are like eating french toast in donut form. Crispy on the outside, custardy and soft on the inside! The cruller itself has a fresh lemon taste thats subtle enough to not detract from the fall inspired glazes, I imagine it pairs well with everything. The farmers croissant with local bacon, egg, and cheese was one of the BEST savory pastries I have ever had - I didn't realize that a place known for their crullers would also have amazing croissants!
October 07 · Meghan MetzThese donuts are so delicious and the staff is incredibly friendly! We got four different flavors: maple, lemon coconut, blueberry and mocha and each was unique in its impeccable flavoring! What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning and we'll be sure to visit again! YUM!
June 06 · Dorothy EnglandI love supporting local business and the staff at F&B were super friendly and accommodating. The donuts are also really good however be prepared to spend a lot of money here. At $4 a pop, a dozen donuts will run you $52 (w/ tax) which are by far the priciest donuts I’ve ever encountered (even in NYC!). The guy behind me spend $104 on 2 dozen donuts! That’s $104 American dollars lol. So while the donuts are really well made and it’s clear the staff takes pride in their work, I’m not sure the price is worth it and will likely be heading to the farmers market for our future donut needs as I’d like to eventually send my kids to college. But hey, if people will pay it, good for these guys. Best of luck to these friendly people!
