This article aims to provide a comprehensive overview of what makes Gury's Market a beloved destination for both long-time residents and new visitors to the area.
The essence of Gury’s Market lies in its commitment to bringing a taste of Colombia to the heart of New York. The bakery and restaurant space is known for being clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable environment for patrons to enjoy their meals or grab a quick treat. The extensive selection of products available, from classic baked goods to savory Colombian specialties, caters to a wide range of tastes and preferences. This blend of a bakery, restaurant, and market makes it a unique and valuable resource for the local community, providing a one-stop shop for authentic Colombian goods and a place to gather and enjoy a meal.
It is important to note that while Gury’s Market excels in many areas, the experience can vary depending on the specific product and staff member you interact with. The bakery's offerings, for instance, are known for being fresh, but some customers have pointed out that specific items, such as the almond croissants, may differ from what one might expect from a traditional interpretation of the pastry. Instead of a rich almond paste filling, they may feature almonds on top with a lighter, thinner layer of filling inside. However, the general consensus is that the overall quality is good and the prices are reasonable, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious New Yorkers. The establishment's potential is clear, and many of its other offerings are highly regarded, drawing customers back time and again to explore new flavors and find their personal favorites.
Gury's Market is more than just a place to buy food; it is a community hub that reflects the rich cultural tapestry of Jackson Heights. The establishment's focus on authentic Colombian products ensures that it serves as an important connection to home for many, while also introducing these traditions to a broader audience. The friendly and professional tone of this article is a testament to the positive reputation the market has built over time, despite some individual customer experiences that may have been less than perfect. Ultimately, Gury’s Market offers a valuable service to its neighborhood, and understanding its offerings and unique qualities is key to appreciating its role in the local food scene.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Spacious Bakery and restaurant, specializing in Colombian products. The service is good. The place is spacious and very clean. I got some Almond Croissants to go. They taste was good but it was basically a Croissant with Almonds on it and nothing in the way of Almond Paste Filling. It might have had either some Almond Extract in the middle or an extremely thin layer of Almond Paste. Whatever it was it certainly wasn't an Almond Croissant the way most of us know one. The Almond Croissants I've eaten are full of Almond Paste in the middle. The prices are good and their other offerings looked like they might have potential.
February 01 · Vivianne BarrettoI had an extremely disappointing experience at this bakery. As a professional barista with over five years of experience, I know the difference between a cappuccino and a latte, yet the employee here clearly did not. When I tried to clarify my order, they were rude and dismissive. The coffee itself was awful—burnt milk, poor extraction, and an overall lack of care in preparation. To make things worse, the milk was clearly reheated, which is completely unacceptable. If you care about good coffee and decent service, I’d suggest going elsewhere.
March 03 · Adam AyubhanovichCame in here on impulse when seeing all the cakes in the window. Settled on the caramel cheesecake which was fine. Flavor was overall good but I thought the cheesecake could be smoother and the crust was a bit thick.
June 08 · Patrick ZajacGreat food and clean place !!! I love it. definitely going back again. Filete de Basa was on point !
May 11 · Daniel OrtizExcellent cafe for coffee and sweets. I had the salted caramel iced coffee and it was delicious. The cakes and other assorted sweets are fresh and delicious as well. The cheesecakes are some of the best you will find anywhere in Jackson Heights. Kind, patient and friendly service from the staff. Restaurant is spotless clean. Highly recommended!
