Patisserie Tomoko Introduce
Welcome, fellow New Yorkers with a sweet tooth! If you're on the hunt for a truly unique dessert experience, there's a gem nestled in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, that you absolutely need to know about. Forget everything you think you know about traditional bakeries or dessert spots. Patisserie Tomoko isn’t just a place to grab a quick pastry; it's a destination where the meticulous art of Japanese pastry meets the timeless techniques of French patisserie. This beautiful fusion creates a menu of desserts that are not only visually stunning but also delicately balanced in flavor and texture, providing a refreshing departure from the overly sweet confections often found elsewhere. It's a culinary journey in every bite, and for a city as diverse and dynamic as ours, it's a perfect fit.
The mastermind behind this delightful establishment is acclaimed pastry chef Tomoko Kato. Her journey is a testament to her dedication and skill. Before opening her own space, she honed her craft in the kitchens of some of New York's most prestigious restaurants, including the renowned Bouley and Le Bernardin, and served as the executive chef at the beloved Japanese tea house, Cha-An. Her deep-seated expertise in both French and Japanese culinary traditions is the foundation upon which Patisserie Tomoko is built. The result is a menu that is both innovative and comforting, with creations that highlight the subtle, natural flavors of ingredients like matcha, yuzu, and black sesame, all while maintaining the structure and elegance of classic French pastries.
What makes Patisserie Tomoko so special is its commitment to quality and creativity. The desserts here are not just food; they are works of art. From the delicate layers of a mille crepe to the perfect chew of a house-made macaron, every item is crafted with precision and care. For locals, this means having access to a high-end dessert experience without the pretense. It’s a place where you can treat yourself to something extraordinary on a regular Tuesday or celebrate a special occasion with a dessert tasting menu that will leave a lasting impression. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to unwind and savor a moment of pure indulgence.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It was on my list to check out this place for a while. I was excited to try the pastry, but there was no seating so we decided to have prix fixe dessert ($29.50) at the bar.Next time we will just get the ready- made pastry from the counter and take it to the park to eat. Chestnut tart looked amazing. For three course dessert, we chose Mont Blanc. Since its tasting course, portions were small. If you compare with ready-made pastry you see in the display, it’s about 1/4 size. Each course was creatively plated and nice. Cappuccino was good.
March 23 · Amy KangThere are some interesting desserts here. They also have a Pre-fixe dessert menu. The Cream Puff is 😋 and the Pumpkin pie is also very good. There desserts are Japanese with French techniques. It's not cheap but the quality is worth the price
June 06 · Vivianne BarrettoThe dessert selection was great, tastes amazing, and presentation even better. Minor note on utensils and plating (hard to eat certain items due to plate instead of bowl), and perhaps exchanging stools or seating that's more comfortable for eating dessert instead of drinks.
June 21 · David W. AstorI finally visited this place last weekend after saving it on my list for a while. My friend, who isn’t really into desserts, skipped the dessert course and ordered an Americano with the staff-recommended Matcha Tiramisu. The greenery-filled interior and natural sunlight gave the space a warm, vintage vibe that felt super cozy. I was hoping for a rich and bold flavor, but the matcha tiramisu turned out to be lighter with a subtle matcha taste, which was a bit disappointing for me. That said, I think people who prefer more delicate flavors would enjoy it.Overall, it’s worth a visit!
January 18 · Selina LVery delicious. The staff are super welcoming. I like their matcha mille crepe cake more than Lady M. Basque cheesecake and pumpkin pie are fantastic too.
