★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Just wow. Hands down best croissant -- texture and flavor -- in town. Came across the Phinney institution one day on the way to yoga. There are half a dozen tables inside, more outside if you are dressed for the weather.Expect a line but don't be deterred the line is quick. Brought my parents here bc my elderly dad loves a good almond croissant. He was not disappointed. Probably bc Pierre the bakery chef (who happened to be in the bakery that day and yes, he is actually French, with accent and passionate about croissants) is friendly and genuinely very passionate about baking the perfect croissant that delivers the ideal texture, crisp flakiness, and flavor of a single croissant. We returned the next morning so that dad could try the tuna croissant which was a veritable embarrassment of protein -- exactly what the doctor ordered for my elderly father -- and my mom could have the avocado toast with a poached egg and fresh arugula. That is actually one of our favorite items ($13) there but folks who can't handle hard bread crust should be advised to go with a croissant based item.We ordered the lemon curd fresh fruit danish, the Reuben croissant has excellent corn beef inside as well as the perfect pair of petite cornichon on top (the attention to this detail is important because they don't put one but two of the small pickles which is exactly the right amount when you're having an entire Reuben croissant. One would not have been enough so you feel a kind of gratitude for the generosity of two. This is the kind of attention to detail that when you over to this bakery). The PNW salmon and cream cheese croissant is delicious and it is covered with black sesame seeds. The pain au chocolat is very good but what is better is the pistachio pain au chocolat with both pistachio paste baked in as well as crushed pistachio covering the top. It's an inspired pastry, and I highly recommend recommended if you have never tried it. It competes very seriously with the almond croissant which is beautifully baked with the almond paste inside and slide almonds with powdered sugar on the outside. On different visits I've had the raspberry preserve-filled beignets as well as the Nutella-filled beignets. We returned for a third morning because my parents, who are visiting from out of town, know a good thing when they taste it. This time my mom decided to try the bacon and egg croissant and was not disappointed -- it's the French croissant answer to a breakfast sandwich, but more buttery and delicious with a whole egg baked in and wrapped around it a thick slice of bacon. The cold brew is delicious, and though you may have to wait a few minutes for the coffee is extremely satisfying to drink a latte or drip from a real cup and saucer. If you know you know.Because my son is a fan of lemon meringue tarts, I can tell you from having ordered it a few times for him, it's worth every bite. I have not yet tried the cinnamon bun but it is slathered in the right kind of cream cheese frosting and catches my eye every time. What I have tried is the Apple strudel and it is delicious every time. Large enough to share. Most of the items are -- but in truth they're really so good you don't want to.Two words of caution would be: if it's your first time be prepared to want to try five more things than you thought you would. And don't be surprised, or judge yourself, if you wind up walking out with a box of four extra croissants to take back for the people you care about. Also, avocado toast is incredibly well stacked with fresh smashed avocado and cherry tomatoes, etc. but the bread that is used, as delicious as the crust is, can be quite hard (and those with dental issues may find it challenging) it cannot be cut with one of the plastic knives so ask the kitchen to cut the toast in half.Parking is what it always is on Greenwood Avenue in the Phinney area. Try the neighborhood parking off the main street to find a good spot. The staff like Sophie and Stephanie are very friendly and thoughtful as they take your order or cash out.
April 27 · Mari KimFood: Good selection of sweet and savory options. We got the mushroom and spinach pastry and the caprese panini. The panini was surprisingly pretty big and a good size. There’s vegetarian and meat options; and the classic croissants and macarons. Will have to check it out next time.Atmosphere/service: options to sit inside/outside. Initially wanted to sit inside since it’s cold but all tables/chairs were occupied. It was an easy switch to go from dine in/to go.Overall, solid little shop to get your pastry needs (sweet and savory) above some of the other shops around with a nice space to hang out.
August 19 · Cape GrapeI already loved Petit Pierre because they make the best croissant in Seattle. But then they provided us with the most delicious array of options for our post-wedding brunch, and now I'm a diehard fan for life. It was so fun to share their incredible food with friends and family from out of town and the fact that they make mini versions of their croissants, cruffins, and tarts meant that everyone could try some of everything. Grace was SO helpful and responsive throughout the whole process and helped us figure out exactly how many of each item we would need. She even helped to set up delivery to Carkeek Park as well. Everything was perfect and everyone was raving about how delicious each bite was. Petit Pierre is a great option for any event you might be hosting!
September 25 · Ollie EndicottI’ve visited another location of Petit Pierre Bakery before, but this one had a much wider selection of bread. It was also way busier—lots of people were stopping by. I got the kouign-amann, almond croissant, and the potato cheese bread. I feel like this location specializes a bit more in dessert-style breads. The almond filling, for example, is different from other bakeries—it’s moist and generously packed inside. The kouign-amann had a lovely balance: the inside was soft and filled with a condensed milk-like cream, while the outside was crisp and flaky, which created a really nice contrast. I had the potato cheese bread as a meal, and I really loved it. It didn’t seem as popular as the dessert breads, but I appreciated its savory flavor—just the right amount of saltiness, rich cheese aroma, and a hint of herbs. As for parking, it can be pretty tough if you go around 10:30 on a weekend. There are other popular cafés and bakeries nearby, so roadside parking fills up quickly. I ended up circling the area for over 10 minutes just trying to find a spot. Just a heads-up!
May 31 · LWe recently visited Petit Pierre for coffee and pastries. It has most popular selection of croissants, cruffins, chocolate bars. My cappuccino had slightly burnt taste, macaroon was ok, but mini doughnuts weren’t fresh, my friend was disappointed. This placed used to be one of my favourites, I would give another try.
