Saint Street Cakes Introduce
In a city overflowing with bakeries, Saint Street Cakes has managed to establish itself as a unique and "super adorable" destination for locals in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. This isn't just a place to grab a simple sweet treat; it's a bakery that prides itself on creating edible works of art that are as stunning to look at as they are delicious to eat. The shop’s aesthetic, a blend of vintage charm and modern flair, draws you in, but it’s the incredible taste of their cakes and pastries that keeps customers coming back. What started as a viral, home-based business has transformed into a beloved neighborhood staple, a testament to the passion and talent of its founder. For Brooklynites, Saint Street Cakes offers a slice of sweetness that is both a visual delight and a culinary triumph, perfect for a special occasion or a simple afternoon indulgence.
The story of Saint Street Cakes is a charming and inspiring one. It all began with Morgan Knight, a self-taught baker with a deep love for desserts that look like they've jumped out of a cartoon—bright, colorful, and fun. While studying to be a lawyer, Morgan’s passion for baking remained her first love. She spent years developing recipes and perfecting her decorating skills for friends and family. The turning point came when she made an intricate strawberry birthday cake for her roommate during the pandemic. After photos of the cake went viral on social media, she began receiving a flood of custom orders. The business was born out of her tiny New York kitchen, and the name "Saint Street" pays homage to her former apartment in Boston. Even while working as a paralegal, Morgan continued to bake on the weekends, but the demand for her cakes became so great that she had to make a choice: law school or baking. Thankfully for the people of New York, she chose the latter. After years of hard work, she opened the Fort Greene storefront, fulfilling her lifelong dream of having a space to share her delicious creations with the community.
Saint Street Cakes is located at 86 S Portland Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11217, a beautiful location in the heart of Fort Greene. This neighborhood is well-known for its picturesque streets, historic brownstones, and vibrant community. The bakery's address places it in a prime, walkable spot, making it easily accessible for local residents and visitors. For those relying on public transportation, the bakery is conveniently close to several major transit points. The Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station, a hub for multiple subway lines (2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, R, W) and the Long Island Rail Road, is just a short walk away. This makes it a great destination for anyone in the city to visit. The bakery also has "a couple of semi-outdoor seats by the entrance," as a reviewer noted, providing a lovely spot for a customer to "read a book or catching up with friends" on a nice day. This makes the bakery a true community gathering spot, a place where locals can linger and enjoy their treats.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Super adorable cake shop. I came in on a weekday for takeaway, tried the almond pistachio cake slice and lavender lemon loaf - both were ACTUALLY amazing. (Sometimes when cakes are cute they don’t necessarily taste as good.)Sure! Here’s a more polished version of your message:There are a couple of semi-outdoor seats by the entrance - perfect for reading a book or catching up with friends. I’d definitely love to come back and try more items. Oh, and did I mention the staff was super friendly too?
July 17 · Kaden Leethere is nothing like a saint street cake. They’re exquisitely beautiful and delicious. My friends literally travel to obtain these cakes… If I lived in NYC I would be here literally every day. She also has VEGAN / dairy-free options!!!!
June 06 · Devon WAbsolutely loved everything I’ve tried from this bakery! When they sell out for the day, they close shop so make sure to get there early. I’ve had a vegan chocolate cake from here for my birthday and was in love with it. You couldn’t even tell it was vegan and it was the best chocolate cake I’ve had. I also tried the pb miso cookie and lemonade lavender cake and really enjoyed both. I have to come back for the chocolate chip cookie! Congratulations, Morgan :) wishing you all the success, you deserve it
July 01 · Tiffany ElizabethThis was one of the best cakes I’ve had. It was reallymoist but not dense and so flavorful. We let Morgan have full creative control over the cake other than some random pinterest board photos we had, and she did a wonderful job making exactly what we had in mind. We will definitely be back for other cakes and celebrations.
July 07 · Isabella RomagnoliHands down the best cake I’ve ever had. Very rare to have a cake that tastes as good as it looks but these cakes hit every single time without fail. Also currently eating an assortment of the baked goods as I write this (chocolate chip cookie, miso pb cookie, gf brownie) and they are ridiculously good as well.
