Scout's Doughnuts Anderson Introduce
Welcome to Anderson, South Carolina, where the local food scene is always buzzing with unique and delicious finds. Among the must-visit destinations for anyone with a sweet tooth is Scout's Doughnuts Anderson. This isn't just your average donut shop; it’s a local small business that has quickly gained a reputation across the Upstate for redefining the classic doughnut experience with a creative, layered twist. Rooted in community and a passion for delicious, high-quality pastries, Scout's Doughnuts offers a memorable treat that's well worth the trip to downtown Anderson.
Scout's Doughnuts was founded by a husband-and-wife team, Ryland and JP Rainsford, and is proudly identified as a women-owned small business. The business model is built around more than just sweets; the owners emphasize "connection" and the idea that "life truly is sweeter together." The very name, "Scout's," is inspired by the character Jean Louise "Scout" from 'To Kill a Mockingbird,' symbolizing a space where all are welcome and seen. The Anderson location is a physical manifestation of this community-first approach, fostering a welcoming environment right in the heart of the city.
The true hallmark of Scout's Doughnuts is their signature pastry: the many-layered, croissant-style doughnut, often referred to as a "cronut." This innovative approach results in a doughnut that is both light and flaky, yet satisfyingly dense, setting it apart from traditional styles. Customers consistently rave about the unique texture—a flaky, croissant-like interior that makes every bite an experience. While the business originated in Greenville, its expansion into Anderson has brought this celebrated, creative take on the classic treat to a new part of the Upstate, much to the delight of local residents and visitors alike.
Location and Accessibility
The Anderson location of Scout's Doughnuts is situated right in the energetic hub of downtown, making it a convenient stop for locals and those exploring the area. You can find this delightful shop at the following address:

The placement of this particular location adds to its unique charm. In a wonderfully unexpected example of community partnership, Scout's Doughnuts is located inside Run-In Anderson, a specialty running apparel and supply store. This unique combination was a natural fit, stemming from the friendship and shared community values between the donut shop's owner, Ryland Rainsford, and Run-In's owner, Dane Simmons. Ryland, an avid runner, saw the partnership as a perfect way to promote balance—a recognition that physical health (running shoes) and mental health (a sweet treat enjoyed with loved ones) go hand-in-hand. This unusual yet inspired pairing in a historic downtown setting contributes to Anderson’s growth and walkability, making it a fun, one-of-a-kind destination. Patrons can grab a box of delicious, many-layered doughnuts and even a new pair of running shoes in the same visit. The downtown Anderson location is part of a growing, revitalized area, which adds to the shop's local appeal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Unique idea, having a donut shop in a shoe store. Staff was very friendly. The donuts were just not that good. There seemed to be Raw uncooked sugar on the tops of our donuts that tasted awkward.
June 22 · Cassie JonesGreat service, great selection, great flavor, great donuts! Get there early because they go fast! Plus you can get a new pair of shoes to help burn off all those delicious calories.
May 11 · Bryan PetersDonuts were not that good for $5 each. They are good sized. We got 6 of them and it was over $30. They weren’t very soft. They are only open two days for donuts inside of a shoe store. Must be made in Greenville and sent here. A lot of flavors were gone by 10:15.I was not impressed and it was a waste of money
May 04 · Nancy MyersOkay, so I had gotten their Vanilla Glaze Doughnut. The taste was delicious, but for the doughnuts to: 1. Be $5. 2. Be that huge. 3. Be that difficult to eat. All three of those factors are making me rate this place a 2 stars. And I understand this is a pop up shop, but why must it be with shoes? I don't get what they were trying to go for and honestly I don't want to understand. If you're going to sell doughnuts that are clearly overpriced and tough to eat, then don't expect many people to come back. Respectfully, the flavor was the only thing actually decent about this. Do better and be better, Scout's.
June 28 · Lailah GambrellArtisan donuts in Anderson? Yep!!! These are my favorite donuts in the upstate!
