St. Honoré Bakery SE Division Introduce
St. Honoré Bakery, specifically the location nestled on SE Division Street, offers local users in Oregon a genuine and elevated culinary escape. Operating as a traditional French restaurant, European restaurant, and a highly acclaimed Bakery, it brings the time-honored techniques and ambiance of a true French "Boulangerie-Pâtisserie" right to the heart of Portland. The establishment is named for the patron saint of bakers, Saint Honoré, a fitting tribute to its dedication to artisanal bread and pastry making.
The core philosophy of St. Honoré revolves around authenticity, often using traditional methods, including a special clay firebrick bread oven, to produce its celebrated loaves and pastries. This dedication to craft results in a product that customers describe as truly exceptional. Beyond the bread, the bakery functions as a versatile dining spot, perfect for a European-style Breakfast, a leisurely Brunch, or a sophisticated Lunch, alongside its role as a Coffee shop, Dessert restaurant, and Pastry shop. Patrons will find a wide variety of French staples, from flaky croissants and decadent desserts to hearty savory options. As one customer noted, the experience is so authentic that their chocolate croissant "tasted exactly like the ones I had in France!"
The atmosphere itself is designed to transport visitors, featuring lovely art details, a relaxing ambiance, and the irresistible, lovely smell of fresh-baked goods. This blend of high-quality food and inviting environment makes St. Honoré a treasured fixture in the Portland food landscape.

St. Honoré Bakery offers a full-scale French cafe experience, providing a vast menu that covers everything from morning coffee to elegant desserts and savory meals.
- Artisan Breads and Viennoiseries: Famous for daily baked goods including Almond Croissant, Four Cheese Bread, and the classic Bacon and Maple Croissant. These "viennoiseries" (sweet breakfast pastries) are the foundation of the bakery's reputation.
- Savory Entrées (Lunch and Brunch): Classic French fare such as the Quiche Lorraine ($16.00) with bacon and Emmental cheese, the vegetarian Quiche Jardinière ($16.00), and the highly-recommended Croque Monsieur ($16.25), a grilled ham and cheese sandwich on brioche with béchamel.
- Signature Paninis: Grilled-to-order sandwiches like the Brie Bartlett Panini ($15.50) with prosciutto, brie, and pear, and the Strasbourg Panini ($15.00), an Alsatian-style Reuben.
- Desserts and Pâtisseries: A wide array of refined French Desserts and tarts, including the Opéra ($8.50), Hazelnut Dacquoise ($8.25), seasonal Tarte Au Citron ($7.45), and various Éclairs ($7.75) and Gâteaux.
- Full-Service Coffee and Tea: The Offerings include high-quality coffee and a full Espresso bar featuring popular options like Lattes, Mochas, and specialty concoctions like the London Fog and unique Portland Fog, as well as an extensive selection of Full Leaf Tea.
- Flexible Service: Catering to modern needs with Delivery, In-store pickup, Takeout, and Onsite services, in addition to the traditional Dine-in experience.
Several key features distinguish St. Honoré Bakery as a premier European dining destination in the Oregon region.
- Authentic French Boulangerie Tradition: The commitment of Master Baker Chef Dominique Geulin to traditional French methods, including the use of a clay firebrick bread oven, ensures an authentic and superior quality product, particularly in their breads and baguettes.
- Comprehensive French Menu: Unlike simple cafes, St. Honoré offers a full range of French cuisine, from breakfast viennoiseries and exquisite desserts to substantial savory entrées like quiches and paninis, making it a true European restaurant experience.
- Ambiance and Design: The "cozy, rustic boulangerie" atmosphere, with its flagstone floor and thick wooden tables, is purposefully designed to evoke the old-world charms of a French countryside bakery, creating a relaxing and inviting space.
- High-Quality Ingredients and Craftsmanship: Customers consistently praise the fresh ingredients and the quality of the pastries, noting the "perfectly flaky layers" of the croissants and the refined flavors of the desserts.
- Excellent Coffee and Fog Teas: Partnering with a recognized coffee provider, the bakery serves strong, rich coffee and unique tea lattes (like the various "Fog" teas), which perfectly complement the pastries.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Nice selection and variety of pastries and drinks. The pastries/croissants would have been better if warmed a little before serving. The eclairs were different flavors, but they each tasted the same - not great. The staff were really nice. The art details are lovely, and the ambiance relaxing. Everything was clean, and the bakery smelled lovely.
February 20 · Christine Torres HicksCame here with my family on Memorial Day with my family, we’re from CA. The employee who helped us was really nice and helpful. Their quiche Lorraine was delicious (although I’m not a fan of the horseradish salad dressing). We also tried the four cheese bread, bacon and maple croissant, and almond croissant, which were all amazing. I highly recommend this place!
May 31 · Jamie ChenImpromptu visit suggested by family who live locally and was very impressed. Planned on just getting a coffee and one pastry but couldn’t resist trying more. The quiche mushroom and leek was one of the best ones I’ve ever had. The provenance panini was simple but flavorful. The honey mocha took awhile to get but was worth the wait.As for pastries: the canelé, Black Forest, and gâteau au chocolat were melt in your mouth delicious. However, the chassons au pommes were too flaky and broke apart quickly which made it too hard to eat.Very few and small tables made it hard to relax and eat but the food was worth it. Next time we will get it to go. The staff members were pleasant and eager to answer any questions.
December 30 · Christi BurbankThe food looks great, the mini croissant was ok. The apple turnover was mediocre. The quiche had a too little egg custard filling compared with too much pie crust and the crust was very dull, non buttery and dried and not fresh. Not worth the price. I wouldn’t go back.
December 22 · sisi Cosmic Chariotdecently yummy pastries and desserts; service was quite quick. i think i got my cafe au lait in under a minute, and it was yummy and as smooth as i expectedi tried a slice of opera cake. it was tasty, but not mind-blowin'ly so.there's a fair amount of indoor seatin'.
