On street, metered parking BUT they will ticket within seconds so do pay! We saw the writing lots of tickets. On the sunny side - Absolutely loved our visit to Zack the Baker! The Nutella croissant was one of the most delicious I’ve ever had—perfectly flaky with just the right amount of sweetness. We also enjoyed their French toast on our second visit but it is enough for two or three people to share. The staff was friendly and helpful, even finding us a seat inside when it was busy. Coffee refills are available on request, which was a nice bonus. We also appreciated the clean bathroom and reasonable prices, especially for a spot in a larger city.Note: They’re closed on Saturdays, so plan accordingly. If you stop by on a Friday, don’t miss their freshly baked Challah loaves—they looked incredible! We purchased the cranberry country loaf but regret not buying the Challah. Will definitely buy it next time.,Highly recommend for a warm, satisfying start to your day. - Holly King

### Introduction / Overview: Zak the Baker—A Miami Artisan Staple

**Zak the Baker** is not just a bakery; it is widely regarded by Florida locals as a cornerstone of the Miami artisan bread scene. Located in the famously vibrant Wynwood Arts District, this establishment has garnered significant acclaim for its dedication to the craft of traditional, naturally-leavened baking. Founded by Zak Stern, the bakery has pioneered the sourdough movement in Miami, transforming from a simple farmers market stand to a fully operational, high-volume bakery and cafe.

What sets Zak the Baker apart is its commitment to both quality and community. It is a certified **Kosher** establishment, ensuring that it meets strict dietary standards while still producing a broad and creative menu of breads, pastries, and savory cafe items. Patrons, regardless of their background, flock here for the exceptional taste and the transparent process—the visible baking operation through glass windows is a fun feature that connects the customer to the craft.

The tone here is warm and dedicated, reflecting a business that values "independent craftsmanship" and uses its culinary work as a means to connect with the diverse South Florida community. For any Florida resident seeking true artisan quality, from a perfect croissant to a hefty loaf of sourdough, Zak the Baker is a definitive destination.

The entire operation closes weekly on Saturdays for the observance of Shabbat, a key detail for local users to keep in mind when planning a visit. The focus on breakfast and light savory fare alongside their renowned baked goods makes it an ideal spot for starting the day in Wynwood.
