Bagelsmith - Bedford Ave. offers a wide and comprehensive range of food and beverage services, catering to various preferences throughout the day, characteristic of a classic New York bagel shop.
- Freshly Baked Bagels: As their name suggests, bagels are the cornerstone of their offerings. They typically provide a wide selection of classic New York-style bagels, which are generally described as substantial and fresh. Common varieties include plain, everything, sesame, poppy, cinnamon raisin, and more.
- Diverse Cream Cheese and Spreads: To accompany their bagels, Bagelsmith offers an extensive array of cream cheeses, including plain, various flavored options (such as scallion, vegetable, sun-dried tomato, jalapeño cheddar), and possibly tofu spreads for non-dairy preferences.
- Breakfast Sandwiches: A highly popular category, featuring classic combinations like egg and cheese with various meat options (bacon, ham, sausage) on a bagel. They also offer more specialized breakfast options, including breakfast burritos and potentially pancakes.
- Deli & Specialty Sandwiches: Beyond breakfast, Bagelsmith typically provides a full deli menu, with a variety of cold cut and grilled sandwiches. These can include classic deli meats, chicken cutlet, tuna melt, Reuben, hot pastrami, and often a selection of vegetarian and vegan sandwich options.
- Omelettes: Made-to-order omelettes with different fillings are often available, served as platters with sides like home fries and toast.
- Other Baked Goods: In addition to bagels, their menu usually includes other bakery items such as muffins, croissants, danishes, and cookies, offering variety for those with a sweet tooth.

- Core Bagel Quality: Despite some specific issues mentioned in reviews, the "bagels themselves were fine NYC quality." Other reviews for Bagelsmith (including its sister location) often praise the bagels as being "soft" or "great," suggesting that the fundamental bagel product can be a strong point when prepared correctly.
- "Good Neighborhood Spot": This description highlights its role as a convenient and accessible local option for everyday needs, especially for residents living "just down the street." Its location on a prominent avenue like Bedford ensures high visibility and easy access for spontaneous visits.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Back in Brooklyn after living here a decade + gone for two years. Bagelsmith is an institution, + we're staying nearby = done.Unfortunately they have run into some trouble at this location recently: they are extremely short-staffed + their POS system is down...The result was a ~25 minute wait (only 1 party in front of us) for some of the saddest breakfast sandwiches ive ever seen this side of the East River. Barely any filling + very dry. The bagels themselves were fine NYC quality, but the overall sandwich was barely average for this town. Not sure how long this issue has been going on, but we went to the Lorimer location the next day and it was every bit as tasty as we remembered.Would recommend you take the L one stop further into Brooklyn and enjoy that location instead.
June 11 · Brad KI wasn’t planning to leave a review after my second visit, but after giving it a third try, I felt it was only fair to share. I usually leave 5-star reviews, and I genuinely wanted to like this place, it has so much potential. But unfortunately, it’s missed the mark for me.To start on a positive note: the staff are genuinely lovely. No complaints there. But the quality of the food and drinks (or how they’re prepared) has consistently let me down.Visit one: I ordered an iced latte and a ham, egg, and cheese bagel. The bagel was overly greasy and completely tasteless, and the coffee was just okay.Visit two: a plain bagel with cream cheese and another iced latte. Sadly, it was probably the worst bagel and cream cheese I’ve had, dry, cream cheese has an awful taste to it, and overall disappointing. I told myself that would be my last time. But I gave it one more shot today running past in need of a coffee. I ordered a medium iced latte with one pump of hazelnut. It came to $8.20, and I can’t even taste the hazelnut. At that price point, you expect at least something memorable.I live just down the street and wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, I won’t be returning. I hope the quality improves because the customers. The store is on Bedford ave! The potential here is huge!
May 01 · Vivienne SayersWe had an absolutely lovely breakfast here. Egg and cheese everything bagel and sausage egg and cheese everything bagel. Both delicious. Great service and cool vibe 🥯
May 28 · Alice WalkerI would give negative stars if I could. I ordered a sour dough bagel with cream cheese and a cappuccino. And somehow this came to over $13!!! When I asked the clerk how that added up, he said that JUST the cream cheese itself to smear on a bagel… is $6.50!! Just to add cream cheese on a bagel. The cappuccino was also $6.50 and it tastes like muddy water, even with added sugar. This is a complete rip off and the owner clearly doesn’t care about his customers. The staff were nice, decent inside but at these prices - NEVER AGAIN. AVOID. SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED $ ELSEWHERE.
May 24 · Alicia HelyerThis is a pretty pricy bagel shop that alsomakes some unique sandwiches. However as many other reviewers say, the cream cheese portion is lackluster. Regardless, the staff are so sweet and fantastic.
