Coney Island Bagels Introduce
In the iconic neighborhood of Coney Island, Brooklyn, a local institution with a long history has been serving up bagels and other baked goods to the community. Coney Island Bagels, located on the bustling Coney Island Avenue, is a familiar name for many residents looking for a quick breakfast or a classic New York bagel. Like many long-standing establishments, it holds a place in the hearts of some locals while also being a source of frustration for others. This duality of opinion is a common thread in the dynamic and highly competitive landscape of New York's food scene.
The experience at Coney Island Bagels appears to be a mixed bag, as evidenced by a range of customer reviews. On one hand, there are patrons who express great satisfaction, particularly with specific items. For instance, the "RAINBOW COOKIES are out of this world delicious and moist!!!" according to one enthusiastic review. This suggests that while bagels are the main attraction, other baked goods are also a strong point for the shop. The bagels themselves are described as "huge and delicious," indicating that when they are prepared well, they can be a satisfying meal. The positive sentiment also extends to the staff, with one customer praising the "manager" as "such a great guy" and noting that "Anytime there’s an issue they take care of you well Beyond expected!!!" This feedback points to a business that, at its best, prioritizes customer service and satisfaction.
However, other reviews paint a less flattering picture. Several customers have raised concerns about the quality and consistency of the bagels, with complaints ranging from them being "burnt" to "NOT fresh." There are also significant issues raised about the value and pricing. One reviewer mentioned that the bagels are "overpriced" and that the portion sizes for popular items like egg and cheese have been reduced. Another reviewer pointed out discrepancies on receipts, "random add ons," and different prices for mini and regular bagels, suggesting a need for customers to be vigilant when checking their bills. The issues with service extend beyond the counter, with complaints about long wait times for delivery, even for a customer living just "3 blocks down," and phone calls going unanswered for long periods.
This dichotomy of experiences makes Coney Island Bagels a quintessential local New York business. It has its loyal fans who swear by its products and appreciate the personal touch of its management, but it also has detractors who have been put off by inconsistent quality and perceived poor value. For a prospective customer in New York, understanding these different perspectives is key to forming a realistic expectation and deciding if the potential rewards of a "huge and delicious" bagel are worth the potential risks of a "burnt" one.

## Location and Accessibility
Coney Island Bagels is located at 2829 Coney Island Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11235, USA. This address places it in a prime spot on a major artery of South Brooklyn. The bakery's location is well-served by New York City's public transportation. Several bus routes operate along Coney Island Avenue and the surrounding streets, providing easy access for those without a car. While a direct subway station might not be right at the doorstep, the area is within a reasonable distance of stations on the B and Q lines, which serve the Brighton Beach and Sheepshead Bay neighborhoods. This makes it a viable option for many people living in southern Brooklyn.
For those who drive, parking can be a typical New York challenge on a busy street like Coney Island Avenue. However, the nature of a bagel shop—often a quick in-and-out visit—can make this less of an issue. The location within a residential and commercial mix means that the shop is part of the daily routine for many locals who can walk or bike there, further embedding it in the community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Burnt overpriced bagels. I used to get a great portion of egg and cheese that I couldn’t finish it, now they give you much less. They also charge a ridiculous amount. This ain’t Manhatten. At times bagels are NOT fresh then for them to answer the phone could take 30 seconds or 9+ minutes and when they do they forget your on hold. Few times I gotten my bagel or rolls burnt. Check your receipts, sometimes the math doesn’t add up. Seen random add ons. I’ve gotten charge different prices for a mini bagel vs a regular bagel. Oh and they charge for delivery. Who does that anymore!!? On top of that I’ve waited close to an hr and I live 3 blocks down. Go to ave u and east 15 donut shop. You get the same amount for 50% off oh and not burnt so you can actually taste the bread not the burnt toast!

May 12 · LADYSABAgreat place especially for breakfast, great bagels and more. You can choose what to put in your bagel, there is a place to sit and eat. Fast service, nice staff, clean and cozy. Large selection of drinks and other snacks.
November 07 · Anna ToptalinaBagel store is located near a bus stop so parking is very difficult. The bagels are tremendous! They can actually be cut into 3 slices instead of two. They sell 15 bagels for $15.00. They are fresh and well stocked with the usual grocery and bagel items. It is a small store but they had all varieties of bagels egg onion, blue berry, raisin, pumpernicle, salt ,onion, garlic, everything. Well worth stopping by.
June 09 · Alex GlattThis place is atrocious they will charge you for whatever they want they had a wrap advertised for 10 dollars so I got 2 one for me and one for my girlfriend all I put on them was onion and lettuce the total was 30 dollars for 2 wraps they said this almost 10 dollar up charge was because of lettuce and onion. When I asked they then realized they were wrong put down the total to 26 which is still absurd the employees are also rude and will lie to your face do not bring your business here. They operate there business like a 3rd world country.
