Regina Bakery Introduce
When you're a New Yorker looking for a true local gem, you often seek out places that have stood the test of time, businesses that are part of the very fabric of the neighborhood. Regina Bakery is exactly that kind of place. Located on the edge of Prospect Park, this is more than just a bakery; it's an institution. For years, Regina Bakery has been serving the communities of Windsor Terrace and Park Slope, offering a delightful slice of classic Italian-American baking to generations of customers.
The atmosphere inside is a charming throwback to a different era, with a no-frills, authentic feel that prioritizes quality and tradition over modern trends. This is a family-owned business, and that sense of dedication and care is evident in every detail. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with the sweet aroma of freshly baked goods and a friendly face behind the counter. It's a place where you're not just a customer, but a neighbor, and the staff often remembers regulars and their favorite treats. The bakery’s enduring popularity is a testament to its commitment to quality and its role as a cherished part of the community.
Regina Bakery's legacy is built on its delicious and consistently high-quality offerings. The owners, Marie and Frank Guerriera, have a deep connection to the business, with Frank having started working there after arriving from Milazzo, Italy. Marie, a self-taught baker, has added her own personal touch to many of the popular items, including the famously cute and delicious character cookies. The bakery's history, which includes a few moves over the years before returning to a smaller version of its original spot, is a story of resilience and passion. This deep-rooted history and family tradition are what make Regina Bakery a truly special place to visit.
The bakery's reputation is well-earned, with many customers considering it one of the few "original establishments still left in the area" and a must-visit spot for pastries in the neighborhood. They're a favorite for everything from a quick morning treat to custom orders for special occasions. The friendly service is consistently highlighted in reviews, with many noting that the staff is always warm and welcoming. This combination of exceptional baked goods and a genuine, neighborly atmosphere is what keeps New Yorkers coming back for more, year after year.
Finding Regina Bakery is a straightforward and pleasant experience for anyone in Brooklyn. The bakery is conveniently situated at 256 Prospect Park W, on the side of a restaurant, placing it perfectly for a post-park visit or as a sweet destination on a stroll through the neighborhood. Its location on Prospect Park West means it's easily accessible for residents of both Windsor Terrace and Park Slope, with the vibrant green space of Prospect Park just steps away.
The bakery’s proximity to public transportation makes it an easy stop for those traveling from other parts of the city. The F and G subway lines are nearby, with the 15th St.-Prospect Park station a short walk away. This makes it a great spot to grab some baked goods on your way home or to pick up a box of pastries to share with friends and family. March 16 · chris caraccioloWe have been coming here for years and this is the best Italian bakery! Our favorite things from here are Black and White cookie (we tried from many different places and this is the best of the best)! Elephant Ear(which I love the crunchiness), Pignoli cookies, 7 Layer Cookies (Rainbow Cookies), Cannolis, Butter Cookies & Lemon cookies. They always have seasonal things between desserts and decorated cookies. Also, they made cakes. Also, the staff are always friendly! Please go and try everything! :)
June 24 · Adriana De Pitkin10000/10. Everyone was so kind and helpful to help me with a custom cake for my 30th birthday. The cake was massive (photos do not do the 3 layers justice) so beautiful, so fresh, and they helped me figure out what would be best for the event and climate. Also delivered to me in the park with no hesitation. So festive!! Never going anywhere else.
July 01 · Francesca LongoRegina Bakery in Brooklyn is an absolute gem! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with charm and warmth. The atmosphere is quaint and inviting, making it the perfect spot to indulge in some delightful treats.I had the pleasure of trying their raspberry and chocolate cigars, and let me tell you, they were divine! Both were flakey and moist, bursting with flavor in every bite. The combination of raspberry and chocolate was simply heavenly, and I couldn’t get enough. In addition to the cigars, I also indulged in their chocolate-dipped pretzels. 🥨 Each pretzel was expertly coated in rich chocolate, striking the perfect balance between salty and sweet. It was the ideal treat to satisfy my cravings.Overall, I can’t recommend Regina Bakery enough. With its cute ambiance and delectable offerings, it’s a must-visit spot in Brooklyn. Five stars all the way!
April 01 · Matthew ReischerSuch a great find on a random late night. I'm from outta town and though Rochester has some big staple Italian bakeries, I personally think Regina's were the best Italian cookies I've had in awhile. The chewy cookies were full of almond flavor and I loved how moist the rainbow cookies cookies were. The Rainbow cookies still stayed moist for days in a tight Tupperware and I only wish I thought to buy more and bring it back to share it with family here. It's a perfect treat to go with your coffee. Please support family businesses, like this. They are very special.
