Tucked away on Griffith Park Boulevard, this local establishment has earned a loyal following for its commitment to traditional recipes, exceptional quality, and, notably, its incredibly reasonable and affordable prices. In a city often associated with high costs, the Donut Factory provides a welcome and genuinely accessible option for delicious treats and hearty breakfast fare.
United Bread & Pastry’s mission is simple: to offer a taste of home through classic Filipino favorites. The atmosphere is frequently described by customers as “very homey,” providing a comforting and casual experience that invites a quick visit. It stands out in the Los Angeles bakery landscape not just for its specialized offerings like Turon, Siopao, and various empanadas, but also for the warmth of its staff, who are noted for being “pleasant and nice.” This bakery serves as an essential cultural hub, supplying the community with daily fresh bread, desserts, and savory snacks that are perfect for a grab-and-go breakfast or a delightful take-out treat anytime during the day. Its reputation is built on authentic flavors and a value proposition that is arguably unrivaled in the greater Los Angeles area.
The shop’s focus is on providing staple Filipino items, including traditional rice cakes, birthday cakes, and party platters for all occasions, making it a cornerstone for Filipino-American celebrations and daily life in the community. While offering a limited menu of core items, each is prepared with authenticity, giving local users a true taste experience without the inflated prices often seen at larger, more commercial establishments.

The top item that is unequivocally worth choosing is the Turon. Customer reviews highlight this sweet banana and jackfruit egg roll as an addictive specialty of the shop. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Bought a few a few items to include some pan de coco/coconut bread. It was moldy. If I didn’t live so far away I would return it. Be careful in what you buy.
September 20 · Tony CI spent a month in Silverlake and I think this was my favorite place I visited during my stay. The staff are always so pleasant and nice and the baked goods are TOO cheap. You literally won’t find a better deal in all of Los Angeles. You must try the turon! I’d never had one before visiting and I am now addicted.
May 29 · Casey McGounHorrible and unprofessional. I called to place an order for a dozen pastries for my grandma and neices birthday and they said what time I told them 6:30. I drove an hour away and by the time I got there which was 6:20 they were closed. The website says 7:30?! They closed when they knew I was picking up an order! They are inconsiderate and I waited an hour outside and no one opened the door. Horrible bakery you are better off at red ribbon.
August 15 · Mikhaela Denise CruzVery homey filipino bakery selling all kinds of bread and pastries. They have empanadas, turon (banana egg roll with jackfruit), traditional rice cakes, birthday cakes, party platters, and pies (cassava/egg). They also have a small grocery section inside. The ladies here are very kind!Parking is very limited. Cash or card.
October 16 · Gab TThis place is such a hidden gem!!! I almost just walked by it and had to go inside to find out whether they were actually open. But I’m SO glad I went in.Their selection I’ll say, is pretty wide although the place appears small. Their pricing is reasonable and service was really good (they didn’t get annoyed with my endless questions!).I got hopias (ube, mung bean, onion) and plantain lumpias.Oh my God... the hopias were SO good and the lumpias, I don’t know how they do it but they sweetened the wrap itself and it’s sooo good altogether! The crispy and chewy, gooey wrap coverig the soft and delicious plantain(tasted more like banana to me) inside.I’d like to try their empanadas next time!!
