WARNING. DO NOT patronize this bakery. The sales people are very rude...ridiculously rude. When I walked in I asked for empanadas. From the service door the sales woman yelled we have chicken or beef. I asked if they were $1 (because I saw the price online). She yelled NO, THEY ARE NOT $1 and walked away from me into the back room. I stood there bewildered. She came back a few minutes later and I said I could have mistaken the price for another bakery. She rudely yelled they are $1.75 each and then said she is out of them because they are very busy (nobody in the store). I said I don't want to do business with a rude establishment like this and walked out. I tried calling the store and it was as if I was calling a toddler who yells repeated hello's and doesn't know how to answer the phone. They did not take my call. I called back again, after 10 attempts, and a man answered and I attempted to tell him what happened. He rudely said we are too busy and hung up. Stay away from this place. I will go to another place who will service me with respect. - Debra Martinez

What is Worth Choosing

For any California local looking to experience or reconnect with authentic Filipino flavors, the true value of Bulacan Bakeshop & Catering lies in the breadth and variety of its traditional menu. This establishment serves as a vital community link to a wide spectrum of Filipino comfort foods that can be difficult to find consolidated in one place.

The Pandesal is a fundamental choice; a fresh, warm batch is a morning staple and a must-try for any bakery enthusiast. For a savory, filling meal, the Lunch Combos featuring classics like Chicken Adobo or Pork Adobo offer great value and a quick, authentic dinner solution. When it comes to sweets, the unique Sapin-Sapin or a refreshing Halo-Halo provides an essential cultural and culinary experience not often found in typical American bakeries. The selection of traditional snacks also makes it ideal for stocking up on appetizers for a party.

While the bakery offers an expansive and traditional menu, potential patrons should be aware of publicly available customer feedback, which has raised concerns regarding both customer service and food quality assurance, particularly concerning mold and incorrect orders, a concern noted on multiple occasions. For those prioritizing a smooth customer experience and meticulous quality control, some patrons suggest exploring alternatives in the area, such as Bagnet Restaurant in Glendale, which has been highlighted for better service and specific dishes like Bangus and Tocino. However, for those determined to try the full, authentic range of dishes offered by Bulacan, the menu itself represents a rich and comprehensive offering of Filipino cuisine.
