★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place? Dumpling heaven. We grabbed the pan-fried dumplings first and honestly, I’m still thinking about them—they had that perfect crispy bottom and juicy center situation going on. We also tried the egg crepe and beef crepe, and they hit even harder once we added a little of that spicy chili sauce (highly recommend). But what really stuck with me was the atmosphere. It wasn’t just authentic—it felt like stepping into another world. For a moment, I didn’t feel like a tourist grabbing lunch—I felt like a curious outsider getting a glimpse of something deeper, something special. It’s rare to find food and feeling like that in one stop.
April 04 · Matt BaldwinWhat a delicious bakery that I stumbled across on a rainy morning, I thought I had gotten off at Canal St. but thankfully I didn’t because I would’ve never discovered this amazing place. First off you have to try all their baked goods, in particular the pineapple bread, fish sandwich and custard bread, next up the steamed pork buns and big bun definitely recommend to try both. Grab yourself some frozen sticky rice with lotus leave in the fridges and finally but not least the pork soup dumplings in broth and shrimp congee for the home run. I love it! Thank you for your amazing service and fresh food.
December 28 · Renata LopezVery local Chinese bakery with a huge menu of meals, baked goods, frozen bun and dumplings, and drinks. It will be overwhelming if it is your first time visiting. There is limited space by the cashier to order and pick up, so need to watch out if you are holding hot food. There are limited seating spaces for dining in so I would recommend take out.I got wanton soup (10c) made with mushroom, ground pork and a few tiny shrimp. Dense texture, not bad but I was expecting more shrimp. Steamed rice crepe is alright. Egg tart has authentic flavor and texture but would be better if it is fresh out of oven.
June 06 · Vicky C.A lot of choices and bargains priceI did go to Van cafe too but this bun at Go believe is better
June 17 · Jenni MosbyMy mom said I should try this little bakery for fresh Chinese buns and other sweets. From the outside, it is small and unassuming. You can easily walk by and miss it. You have to know about it in order to find it. Having said that, their baked items are not too sweet yet are very good! All the buns are individually wrapped for convenience. They offer warm buns, too. Egg custards, sesame balls, etc. are in the counter display case. I tried several buns and even bought fresh baked raisin bread as I was enticed by the condensation inside the package! Lol. Everything tasted very fresh. I even steamed a leftover custard bun a few days later, and it still tasted amazing! The only items this place sucks at are the white and brown sugar cakes (so far). I tried the white sugar cake and don't recommend it at all. It takes a talented baker to make them. Only 1 or 2 places make phenomenal ones. Unfortunately, this place is not one of them! These are dense and flavorless. Update: the raisin bread is light and buttery but needs more raisins! Not worth the extra .75 cents compared to the plain bread. Feel kinda cheated. I highly recommend the cream bun, paper wrapped sponge cakes, and custard bun. Prices range from low to average.
