Isabella’s Bakery Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For residents across Illinois, finding a bakery that offers a true taste of authentic, homemade international flavors can be a delightful discovery. Isabella’s Bakery, nestled on Foster Avenue in Chicago, is precisely one such local treasure. Operating primarily as a specialized Pastry shop, this establishment is celebrated for its commitment to traditional Guatemalan baked goods and savory treats, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere that stands in pleasant contrast to larger, impersonal chain stores.
Unlike bakeries that overwhelm with endless selections, Isabella’s offers a curated variety, ensuring that every item is crafted with attention to detail and a flavor profile rooted in rich cultural heritage. Customers consistently rave about the "homemade flavors" found in their signature sweet bread and empanadas. This focus on tradition and quality has cultivated a loyal following in the Chicago area, appealing to those who appreciate affordability, authenticity, and desserts that are delicious but "not too sweet." If you are looking for an affordable, genuine, and flavor-packed experience for breakfast or dessert, this local, family-run spot is a must-visit in the 60640 zip code.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Yummy sweet bread and empanadas with homemade flavors🙏😋not overwhelmed with variety which means you really can’t go wrong. Skip the chain store and get your coffee and treat here. There are a few seats inside to inhale your first bites. Cash only, so you know only cool people come here.
March 04 · yara sLoved their Guatemalan bread. Yummy! Cash only. Bread could be from 1 something to 8 if you want the larger one.
September 20 · Sarina UbedaIncredibly affordable, delicious and not too sweet baked goods. The owner (well, she referred to herself as the owner's wife) talked to me for a bit, and gave me a sample of something I hadn't tried from Guatemala and told me her family has run shop for 20 years. I'd much rather go here than the corporate chains down the block. And I'd love to try the Christmas tamales if I'm in town for the season—I bet they're amazing.
September 21 · TI was in Andersonville last week, and so I visited Isabella Bakery to get some sweet bread. The lady at the store was super nice and friendly. Their sweet bread delicious as always, also their Guatemalan tamales which are a little pricey, but they tasted good. I highly recommend it and always support small business.
December 19 · Georgina ReyesReally cute place and clean. The conchas and cachitos are really delicious. The salsa tostadas are super delicious as well. I usually don’t like them elsewhere but their salsa was amazing. Reminded me of my mom’s.
